Eric and Melisa Siebert are the Franchisees for the Willowbrook Location. They are the proud parents of Aundrea 16, Nicholas 9, and Sarah 6.
After being a stay at home mom for 5 years it was always Melisa's dream to start her own business. Not just any business but something that would help parents trying to raise a family. After lots of research Eric and Melisa loved the idea of Winmark's "Once Upon A Child" concept. "What a fantastic opportunity to be a part of something that benefits Parents wanting to sell their Gently used kids stuff with out all of the hassle " says Melisa. Melisa & Eric encourage parents to take advantage of the unique Trade Credit service. "Trade Credit provides parents another way to save $$" says Melisa "...thats why I always mention it to Moms and Dads that visit us!" Once Upon A Child has a great mix of new and gently used kids stuff. Even those who never thought they'd shop resale are regular return customers.
Eric & Melisa feel that the most rewarding part of the business are the relationships developed with employees and customers. "It has become a place where we enjoy coming, not only to work but to meet new people!" says Melisa. They have met and watched expectant parents continue to bring their children to shop for new and gently used items, "...even more fun is watching their children grow! adds Melisa. Eric really enjoys helping the expectant parents, "I love seeing the Mom glowing and the Dad excited and nervous at the same time - I can somewhat re-live those feelings, what a blessing!"
